In Glen More II: Chronicles, players become leaders of a Scottish clan, trying to become the most successful one. By planting meadows for their cattle, cutting wood, chipping stone, growing crops and brewing whisky, they try to increase their territory and thus their status in the Scottish Highlands.

Glen More II: Chronicles is the sequel to Glen More, and just like in the original game there’s a time track with the last player on the track acting first, taking a tile from as far as they want. Players place the tile in their territory, ensuring that his clan member is nearby and that the river continues to flow through his domain. Then they activate the new tile and all tiles that are orthogonally and diagonally adjacent. The game ends when the end tile is placed on the board and all players cross this tile during their turn.
The Chronicles bring small additions to spice up the game, such as a boat sailing from player to player in a race to get home first, the ability to age and sell your whisky, serve haggis, trade with the English and much more. Each Chronicle adds a little time to the gamelength and they can be combined as the players wish, but the core of the game remains the same.
The new version of the game comes with updated artwork, improved components and lots of extra gameplay. You can freely choose which Chronicles to include, or you can put them one by one in the legacy-style to make the game increasingly more complex. It’s entirely up to the players what they prefer.
This game has been on my radar and wish list for a long time now. Really appreciate this summary, and the pictures are excellent.
