This cooperative card game, designed by Reinhard Staupe and Wolfgang Warsch, and published by Nürnberger-Spielkarten-Verlag, challenges players to synchronize with their teammates in an exciting and unique way. Suitable for 2-5 players aged eight and up, Soulmates is perfect for families or groups of friends who enjoy cooperative play and a bit of a challenge.
💡 The Mind – Soulmates is a spin-off of the original game, The Mind. In Soulmates, players work together to complete 12 levels by placing cards face down in ascending order without speaking or giving any clues. One player assumes the role of the “Seer,” providing essential hints about the cards through the hint sheet. The goal is to tap into your teammates’ thoughts and play your cards in perfect harmony.

👥 The game is easy to set up and learn. Simply sort the 12 level cards in ascending order and shuffle the 50 number cards. One player is randomly chosen as the Seer for the first level, and the game begins.
✨ Each level, the Seer reveals the level card and draws a certain number of number cards, taking note of some for hints. The Seer shuffles the cards and deals them out to the players. Then, the players take turns placing their number cards face down in the center of the table, trying to put them in ascending order. The Seer checks the order of the cards without revealing them to the other players. If the cards are in the correct order, the team moves on to the next level. If not, the team loses a life and must try again with an additional hint.
🤫 What makes Soulmates so challenging is that players are not allowed to communicate with each other in any way. This means no talking, no showing cards, and no secret signals. Instead, players must rely on their intuition and timing to play the right card at the right time. The Seer provides hints, but it’s up to the players to decipher them and use them effectively.
🕰️ The game ends when the team successfully completes all 12 levels or loses all lives and one more after using their “supernatural powers”. The supernatural theme adds a fun twist to the game, suggesting players use their psychic powers to complete each level.
💭 The Mind – Soulmates is a card game that offers a fresh take on cooperative gameplay. Its reliance on shared intuition and understanding make it an enjoyable experience for friends and family. The game’s simple setup, easy-to-understand rules, and engaging gameplay make it an excellent choice for game nights and a must-have for fans of cooperative games.
