Vojvodina is now live on Kickstarter:
Over the course of the game, players earn money by supplying towns with the grain they demand. At the start of each round everyone receives 6 town cards, to be used to perform one of two possible actions:
Discard a card to take one of their field tiles
Place the card face down to place one of those field tiles on the map.
After performing a turn, players pass their remaining cards to the next player, and when all cards have been used the round proceeds to the harvest and supply town phase, in which players earn grain for the fields they covered, and use them to supply the towns on the cards which they placed face down, gaining them money.
The game ends after 3 or 4 rounds, depending on the player count, and the player who obtained the most money wins!
Vojvodina takes a couple mechanisms we’re very familiar with, tile placement and card drafting, and combines them in an excellent way. The rules are very straightforward and for me this definitely feels like a family game that can be played with everyone.
The most fun part is placing the field tiles: the map feels really tight, and you need to keep an eye on your opponents to prevent yourself from being blocked, while at the same time you also want to place your own tiles next to each other to receive some bonus grains.
If this piques your interest, head over to Kickstarter to check out the campaign!
