Coney takes you to a charming countryside where you aim to build a rabbit farm using rabbit cards. Each player arranges these cards in a 3×3 grid, following the unique placement rules outlined on the cards. These rabbit cards will contribute to your Victory Points (VP), displayed on the top right corner of each card. You’ll also earn points through store icons, end-of-game bonuses, and leftover resources. However, watch out for malus points that could reduce your score. The player with the highest points at the end takes the crown!

👨🌾 On your turn, you have three options: Restock, Play Rabbit Cards, or Growth.
🔄 When you choose to restock, you can first discard cards from your hand if you wish. Then, draw new cards from the market or draw pile until you have four in hand. Additionally, you can reserve up to two cards by placing them face-up in front of you. Don’t forget to grab two resources from the general supply after drawing your cards.
🐰 Ready to get those bunnies hopping? When you pick this action, you can exchange rabbit cards from your farm for benefits outlined on the cards. These traded cards go to the discard pile. Then, it’s time to add up to two new rabbit cards to your farm from your hand or reserved cards. Just make sure you have the resources to pay for them! If not, you can use any two resources as a substitute for the specific one needed. Placement is essential here! Cards must be placed next to each other, and they need to follow the rules stated on them. If you want, you can also play a card face-down as a rabbit hutch instead of playing rabbit cards. This will cost you two resources but makes placement easier.
🌱 With the Growth action, your farm flourishes! Activate abilities of the rabbit cards in your farm that have “During Growth” Coupons. These cards also have a Store logo which can earn you extra VP. During Growth, you can place resources on cards to gain more points at the end of the game.
🥕 The game nears its end when a player fills their 3×3 grid with rabbit cards. After everyone has completed their turn, it’s time to calculate the scores! You’ll tally up points from your rabbit cards, end-of-game bonuses, store logos, and leftover resources. But be cautious of the malus points that will be subtracted for reserved cards you didn’t use.
🐇 With your adorable bunnies settled into their cozy farm and scores tallied, the player with the highest points wins!

🎨 The visuals in Coney are genuinely heartwarming. With artwork by Mirko Properzi, the rabbit cards are the cutest you’ll ever find. The designer behind this game is Giampaolo Razzino, who has already won our hearts with his earlier creation, Hens. Coney offers a puzzling yet captivating experience, playing out in just about 20 minutes. The rules are simple and easy to get a hold of.
🌱 In Coney, you step into the role of a rabbit farmer, aiming to establish a well-organized rabbit farm. The game revolves around placing rabbit cards on a 3×3 grid. This simple act of arrangement quickly escalates into an intriguing puzzle, as each card must abide by specific rules which consider the characteristics of neighboring cards, such as their colors and gender. This component of Coney calls for careful planning and presents a delightful challenge.
🐰 But don’t worry, the game also offers some maneuverability. For instance, you can choose to play a card as a rabbit hutch, allowing you to bypass the typical placement constraints. Plus, there are also the Wild Rabbit cards. These cards are free from gender restrictions, and when it comes to positioning, they can adapt to be any color necessary.
⏳ Timing is crucial in Coney! When to take specific actions can significantly impact the outcome of the game. The game keeps you on your toes, as each decision can be pivotal. Even a few points can be the difference between a triumphant win or a narrow loss.
🔢 Scoring in Coney is multifaceted and keeps you guessing. There are numerous ways to earn VP, from the rabbit cards you place in your farm to end-of-game bonuses and more. What makes Coney particularly addicting is the thrill of discovering new strategies to maximize points and beat your previous scores. And with scores often neck and neck, the game remains exciting till the very end.
🥕 In a nutshell, Coney is a charming, brain-tickling, and addictive card game that offers a solid puzzly experience with a variety of scoring possibilities. Its cute art and smart gameplay make it a must-try for anyone seeking a quick and challenging gaming session.
🐇 We’d like to mention that our review is based on a prototype copy of the game. So, the final version might have some differences. We thank Happy Meeple Games for providing us with the prototype. They are the ones bringing Coney to life in Dutch and French. For those looking for an English version, Little Rocket Games is running a Kickstarter campaign for it, which you’ll find here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/littlerocketgames/coney
