🧙♂️ The playing area is divided into two sections: your side of the kingdom and your opponent’s side. Within these sides, there are different realms, and each realm has a bonepile that contains skeletons.
⌛ Each turn consists of choosing one lich action, resolving all minion actions, and optionally casting a spell. After this, players check if any realms are scored and then pass the turn to the next player.
For the lich action, you have two choices:
🔸 Grab & Raise: This action allows you to take a skeleton from any bonepile, place it on your side of any realm, and flip it into a minion.
🔸 Raise in Place (R.I.P.): This action allows you to flip a skeleton already on your side, turning it into a minion.
👾 Minions are essential in this game. When a skeleton card is flipped and becomes a minion, it performs actions based on the skills listed. These skills include fighting, moving skeletons, and others. Minions must complete all their skills in the order listed on the card.
🔮 You may also cast a spell during your turn if you have a spell card. Spells are cast by revealing them, executing the effect on the card, and then placing them in a burn pile. If you possess two identical spell cards, you can play them together for a more potent effect called a Forbidden Combo.
🎯 The objective of the game is to score realms. To score a realm, you must have a combination of cards on your side of a realm that meets its scoring requirements.
At the end of your turn, if a realm is scored, the player claims the realm card and all the cards in that realm are discarded.
🏆 The game ends when a player accumulates 5 points by scoring realms. This player is declared the winner as they have successfully woken the Lich King!
👨👩👧👦 Additionally, you can also play Bad Baby Lich Lords with 3 or 4 players. In a 3-player game, there is a free-for-all using all four realms, with the center realm shared by all players. In a 4-player game, players form 2 teams, each controlling two realms. Teammates can share information and combine forces. The first player to reach 5 points wins in a 3-player game, while the first team to get 5 points wins in a 4-player game.

Bad Baby Lich Lords is a tactical game that keeps you on your toes with its array of strategies and ample opportunities to play tricks on your opponents. It’s easy to grasp the rules, but don’t be fooled – there’s an abundance of variety to explore. The game comes with four quirky factions, or realms, each with its own distinct flair.
🎨 You’ll instantly notice the dazzling artwork by Taylor Dow. It’s not just eye-catching; it’s hilariously amusing! The cards sport funny names like “Raveyard” and “Flyclops,” along with fitting illustrations that will definitely trigger bouts of laughter at the gaming table. If you appreciate puns and clever humor, this game’s for you.
🃏 The essence of Bad Baby Lich Lords is collecting sets of cards to meet the demands of the realms you’re playing in. But it’s not just about hoarding cards – each one boasts one or more actions. This game has you on a quest for the ultimate card combination, being highly combo-oriented and rewarding clever plays.
🎢 There’s an enjoyable element of chaos throughout the game. It’s exciting and very much in sync with the theme. Be prepared for surprises – you might be just a step away from scoring a realm when an opponent’s move upends everything. You’ll need to be nimble and adaptable – and also brace yourself for the unexpected. Realms can be scored, and your treasured cards might end up discarded to the burn pile. This keeps the tension and entertainment going strong.
