What’s Inside the Anniversary Box?
At its core, the Orléans: Anniversary Box contains the same beloved gameplay that’s made the base game a hit for 10 years. You’ll still be sending your trader out to explore the medieval cities of Orléans, collecting goods, establishing trading posts, and optimizing your resources to stay ahead. The heart of the game, the bag-building mechanic, remains the same: each round, you’ll pull workers of different colors from your bag and assign them to actions on your board to perform tasks. But this time around, everything feels a bit more… luxurious.
For the 10th anniversary, the components have been given a major upgrade. Those trusty cardboard disks you’ve been pulling out of your bag for years? They’ve been replaced by wooden, printed meeples. And speaking of bags, your old cloth ones have been swapped for embroidered velvet bags. You’ll feel like a noble while reaching for your next worker—just don’t get too distracted by the fancy upgrade!
But the upgrades don’t stop there. Technology tiles, resources, and coins have also gotten the royal treatment. You’ll now find sturdy wooden tokens and high-quality metal coins to handle during your sessions, giving the game a much more premium feel. All these upgraded components are neatly stored in removable game trays with lids. They make setting up, tearing down, and organizing the game a breeze. No more fumbling through plastic bags trying to find that one tile!
