Ceres

The year is 2219, and humanity has colonized Mars and is using the planet as a base for many operations. A mining complex has been built on Ceres, and numerous organizations are out to increase their profits and power by mining the asteroid belt that surrounds the dwarf planet.

Ceres is now live on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/241478362/ceres

🔸 In Ceres, each player takes the role of one of those asteroid mining companies. Each of the 3 game rounds begins with an income phase, during which you receive resources from your claimed asteroids and built outposts.
🔸 Then players take turns, placing a worker on one of the various locations. This may be by placing one of your personal leader pawns on the game board to activate the location, or you take a worker from the common pool and place it on a card in your own tableau.
🔸 Actions allow you to construct or upgrade outposts, advance on the research tracks for ongoing benefits, deploy probes to the asteroid belt, or use your power in the council.
🔸 At the end of the third round the game ends, and whoever scored the most points wins the game!

💬 Ceres is a medium-weight worker placement game that comes with a neat twist, as on their turn players can choose to either place one of their own workers, or perform an action with a worker of the limited common pool. This provides an element in which timing becomes even more important than in other worker placement games.
💭 The game is also strong thematically: for example, between rounds the asteroid belt will rotate, making some locations easier to reach while others will be farther away. Other aspects, such as the council and research tracks are also important so you have to plan well to perform your turns in the best possible way.

👉 If this all seems interesting to you I can recommend checking out Ceres, the campaign is currently still running for a few days on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/241478362/ceres
