🔹 In Citytrip Antwerpen, your job is to ensure that visiting tourists get to see as much of the city as possible during their short stay. Each turn a new card is flipped, and from the 2 cards that are visible you’ll be picking one of the 7 possible combinations of 2 adjacent symbols.
🧭 While the green compasses are used to move around the city, other symbols are used to make stops and perform activities with your group such as photographing buildings and statues, buying souvenirs, recreation, and so on.
In addition, you’re allowed to take a rush action, this allows you to pick a third adjacent symbol to perform an action and will result in negative points, so you better think twice when you’re spending them.
🔹 For each type of location you visit during the game, you get points at the end of the game, depending on the number of times you visited them. You can also score extra points for achieving some of the mission cards.
👉 When playing Citytrip Antwerpen you can choose to play the normal game with 16 action cards, or a longer game with 20 cards, and there’s a variant that allows you to plan your route in 2 directions. The player sheets are double sided, with the advanced game on the back. Here you can play with up to 6 mission cards, and you can unlock bonus actions which can be spent freely. Some locations also require more symbols to visit in comparison to the basic game.
There’s also a solo mode in which you can play through 15 difficulty levels.
💬 If you’re already familiar with the previous game of the series, Citytrip Brugge, this game will be a breeze for you to learn. The basics remain the same, the distinction lies in the other locations you can visit, the different distribution and therefore the differing points you can earn with the locations.
