Passo – Tactical Depth in a Tiny Package

Are you a fan of abstract games? Then allow me to introduce you to Passo, a fascinating two-player game that’s all about strategic depth and clever moves. Designed by the minds of Clemente Musa & Steffen Mühlhäuser, this brain-teasing game is brought to you by Steffen-Spiele, a part of the Helvetiq family.

🧩 In Passo, you’re armed with 25 board tiles, 10 wooden discs (5 in each color), and 12 power tokens (6 for each player). The aim? Outmaneuver your opponent by either moving past their farthest disc or being the last one able to make a move.

🔍 Setup is a breeze: arrange the tiles to form a 5×5 grid, pick your color, and line up your discs. Then, the strategic dance begins. Each turn, move a disc to an adjacent tile, stacking it if needed. But watch out, you can’t move a disc trapped under another! Remove tiles as you vacate them, creating a shifting landscape of play.

🏆 Victory comes in two flavors: sneak past your rival’s front line, or corner them until they can’t move. It’s a delicate balance of aggression and planning.

💡 For the tacticians who want more, there’s an advanced mode. Secretly select 3 power tokens, each offering a unique one-time ability – from stacking on full tiles to leaping over gaps!

💭 Passo is a refreshing, strategic duel that’s both simple to learn and profound to master. Despite its small box and basic components, Passo is a guarantee for tense duels, perfect for those puzzle-solving game nights!
